There are many great opportunities across the university for students to get involved in community service projects and civic engagement opportunities.
If you are interested in learning more about community service and civic engagement opportunities available from schools, student organizations, and other university offices, or if you would like to notify students of opportunities to participate in such
activities, please email

Past and Current Projects and Partners
Nonpartisan Voter Information and Registration
Students staff tables in lobbies of New School buildings or at events to provide voter information and assist with voter registration. Volunteers must complete training through Student Leadership and Involvement or the League of Women Voters.
Volunteer on Campus
Student volunteers are needed to help out at our on-campus Food Pantry. The Food Pantry is open to current New School students who do not have the means to buy adequate food for themselves. More information about the pantry and how to help can be found
in the Student Food Pantry FAQs.
Winter Coat Drive
Beginning in the fall, donation bins are placed in campus buildings to collect winter coats for those in need around New York City. Volunteers are needed to decorate and distribute bins and to collect, count, and deliver coats.
