      All applicants are required to apply online. Save your work frequently and print a copy for your records. You must complete all required fields and uploads prior to submission.

      Any additional supporting documents that need to be sent by mail must include an Application Materials Cover Sheet. All supporting materials must be received before your application can be reviewed.

      Applicants for this Master of Arts degree must have completed a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent upon enrollment.

      How to Apply

      Application

      Complete the online application. Applicants must also complete the essay with the Application. The essay will prompt you to let us know more about your interest in joining our community and why you would be a good fit for The New School.

      Application Fee

      A nonrefundable $50 application fee is required as part of the online application.

      Essay

      Submit a statement of purpose of approximately 1,000 words addressing why you have chosen arts management and entrepreneurship as your proposed field of study; whether you have field experience that would contribute to your prospective studies; and, your post-graduation plans.

      Portfolio

      The portfolio must be completed in GetAcceptd.com only. In your portfolio you are required to submit materials (video or audio files, in particular) that provide evidence of your artistic skills. You are strongly encouraged to submit a range of materials (in written form, images, video, audio, etc.) that provide evidence of your entrepreneurialism, leadership, or management skills; and, socially engaged practice or social justice values/goals. Please upload up to nine (9) items to Acceptd demonstrating your relevant work and experience in these areas. Please edit the length of each individual submission to maximum 5 minutes. If submitting an item representing a group performance, please indicate the time-stamp for a passage in which your work is featured. 

      In addition to the nine (9) items mentioned above, please upload the following three (3) items:

      1. A current resume. 

      2. A cover letter. In this cover letter please reflect on your capacity to commit to a full-time program given other commitments; and, provide context for each of the items in your portfolio. Specifically tell us the date, time & location for the work; your role; and, how this item demonstrates your skills in the areas of entrepreneurialism, leadership, or management skills; and, socially engaged practice or social justice values/goals. 

      3. A duplicate copy of the Essay that you submitted with your application through Perceptive.

      This means you will have a maximum of twelve (12) items in your portfolio.

Undergraduate Adult Learners

To apply to any of our Bachelor's Program for Adults and Transfer Students and Parsons Associate of Applied Science programs, complete and submit the New School Online Application.

Graduates

To apply to any of our Master's, Doctoral, Professional Studies Diploma, and Graduate Certificate programs, complete and submit the New School Online Application.
