Discovering New Ways to Make Media Virtually

When unprecedented events scattered his students around the world, assistant professor of media studies Amir Husak reignited classroom creativity with a new digital sharing platform. Students captured the “new normal” and documented the ways the pandemic was affecting their immediate communities through photos, videos, and memes. The sharing exercise not only fostered solidarity but encouraged students to completely reimagine their approaches to documentary filmmaking and see the current moment through a completely new lens.
