    Walker Hotel Greenwich Village

Walker Hotel Greenwich Village and the School of Jazz and Contemporary Music collaborate to showcase student performances in the hotel’s lobby lounge, The Parlour at Society Cafe. The partnership began when the hotel borrowed a Yamaha piano from The New School for its Jazz Dinner Series with Smalls Jazz Club during the winter holidays. Students would come over between classes to practice on the piano when it was sitting unused in the hotel lobby. Once the Jazz Dinner Series was complete, the two organization worked with each other to form a musical program together.

    Bern Jazz Festival

This is a wonderful learning experience for young musicians — traveling abroad, working in front of an enthusiastic and sophisticated audience, and interacting with world-renowned artists.
