    Katharine Battistoni

    Profile

    Katharine Battistoni is a guitarist, songwriter, poet, and improvisor who often works within the American musical traditions of the folk, jazz, and country genres. She has written and published over five hundred songs, recorded everywhere from Shahzad Ismaily's Figure 8 Studios to Garageband '11. Her work has been released on Ryley Walker's acclaimed Husky Pants label, Weasel Walter's ugEXPLODE, Ruination Records, Glamour Gowns, and elsewhere. Her latest album, Selfies of You, is a collaboration of songs and improvisations featuring Marc Ribot and Ches Smith. Her thoughts on music, memory, and the guitar patriarchy have been featured in publications such as Arielle Gordon's Drug Music, Jessica Ackerley's The Brink, and more.
