Academic advising is an integral part of every student's experience at The New School. Academic and career advisors offer timely and accurate information to guide students, helping them explore opportunities, make informed decisions, and create an academic plan for their future career.
Advisors are knowledgeable about academic policies, degree requirements, and course offerings and can connect students with the university's extensive resources. We strive to build a supportive environment and collaborative relationships between advisors and students. With support from advisors, students develop their academic goals, sense of responsibility, and resilience. Advisors empower students to take charge of their educational journey to becoming a successful, independent, and engaged global citizen.
The Academic Affairs office is open weekdays between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. To make an appointment, contact the associate dean or assistant director or stop by the office.
