WriteOn NYC

WriteOn NYC
Project

WriteOn NYC, housed at the Creative Writing Program, aims to develop two communities simultaneously. First, it provides the services of passionate writing teachers from the MFA Creative Writing Program at The New School to underserved New York City school children. Second, it prepares MFA Creative Writing candidates for careers in teaching and nonprofit work and provides financial support throughout their graduate studies. WriteOn NYC believes literature helps us see beyond the quotidian and increases our capacity for empathy. It seeks to make literature more accessible to children, both as readers and as writers.
