The Graduate Institute for Design, Ethnography, and Social Thought (GIDEST) incubates advanced research at the intersection of social theory, humanities, and design, fostering dialogue on related themes across the university. We annually support five faculty members and five doctoral fellows, who develop their work as part of our vibrant transdisciplinary collective.
Our popular bi-weekly public seminar brings both prominent and emerging scholars and practitioners to campus, and serves as a transdisciplinary hub for the university community and a lively site for faculty and graduate student dialogue and creativity.
