The Center for English Language Studies (CELS) supports the academic experience of The New School's linguistically diverse student body to create a learning environment that promotes success for all. Through our programs and services, we provide language-supported curriculum, faculty training, language proficiency assessment and policy, and English language preparation pathways. CELS is dedicated to removing the barriers to linguistic equity and integrating English language support into the university curriculum and pedagogy in order to offer an inclusive model of higher education to our international student body. The Center for English Language Studies is part of Libraries, Collections, and Academic Services, within the Provost's Office.
