The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music core faculty features top-ranked New York professional musicians, including Junior Mance, Reggie Workman, Jane Ira Bloom, and Dr. Chico Hamilton. Our school's artist-as-mentor philosophy has produced enduring collaborations between faculty and students throughout the years. These duos--such as Peter Bernstein and Jim Hall, Roy Hargrove and Jimmy Heath, Rachel Z and Maeve Royce, and Brad Mehldau and Fred Hersch--have gone on to perform together and create new music.
