Our school is located in New York City, at the center of the music industry. The school's Greenwich Village locale is home to many of the city's fabled jazz nightclubs, such as the Village Vanguard, Blue Note, Smalls, and Jazz Standard. We are also just a short subway ride away from world-famous performance venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Our facilities offer classroom, practice, and rehearsal space seven days a week. Concert and recording needs are served in an intimate and beautiful performance space. In addition, The New School offers you all the amenities of a vibrant campus life such as libraries, residence halls, and a variety of student organizations and activities. Living in dorms, while not mandatory, is strongly recommended as a way to get acquainted with the city and with other New School students.

The Office of Student Services provides a variety of resources, including information about New York City, international student advisement, and information on medical and personal health insurance. With students from more than 105 countries, our university is truly multicultural.
