Spring 2014 Common Composer Project
Horace Silver

Each semester the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music designates one of the great jazz composers from our tradition to serve as a unifying force in our highly diverse Improvisation Ensemble curriculum. Every Improvisation Ensemble will include at least one song by the common composer in its repertoire, and will record their new arrangement of the common composer tune in its end-of-semester recording session.
