• Employee Assistance Program

    The New School offers employees and their household members EAP and work/life benefits through two organizations. Inquiries and services are provided through these programs at no cost to you and are completely confidential.

    Bensinger, DuPont & Associates

    The Bensinger, DuPont & Associates EAP offers support, guidance, and resources for:

    • Child care and elder care
    • Stress and anxiety
    • Financial and legal concerns
    • Emotional well-being
    • Alcohol and substance abuse
    • Relationship issues
    • Depression
    • Identify theft and fraud

    You may receive up to three face-to-face counseling sessions for each issue for which you need assistance.

    Work Life Services offer information and referrals for the following:

    • Child care and elder care
    • Care for the disabled
    • School and college planning (kindergarten through higher education)
    • Adoption
    • Everyday needs related to relocation, pet care, travel, home maintenance, entertaining and more

    Ability Assist and Health Champion — The Hartford

    The Hartford's Ability Assist Counseling Services (offered by ComPsych) offers the following counseling services:

    • Emotional and work-life counseling for substance abuse, stress, relationship/marital conflicts, grief counseling, child/elder care referral services and more. Up to three free sessions per incident.
    • Financial information and resources for managing a budget, retirement, tax questions and saving for college.
    • Legal support and resources for buying a home, establishing guardianship, power of attorney, divorce, and debt and bankruptcy.
    • Support through all aspects of health care issues such as preparation for an upcoming doctor's visit, coordination with appropriate health care providers, and guidance on claims and billing questions.

As a first-time user, you'll be asked to provide the following information on the profile page: In the Company/Organization field, use HLF902. Then create your own username and password.
