Profile:
David Carroll’s teaching and research focuses on digital media, especially for mobile devices, investigating software and interaction design as a form of social engagement. His work crosses multiple fields of art, design, education, science, the humanities, and policy among both private and public-interest enterprises. Prior to teaching at Parsons, Carroll directed multimedia for major interactive media clients including AOL, A&E, CNN, FOX, ESPN, HBO, PBS, Random House, Smithsonian, Sony, Sports Illustrated, Time, Warner Bros and others. Carroll serves as The New School's agent for the Apple University iPhone Developer Program, sits on Adobe's Partners By Design advisory board, has been recognized by the Adobe Education Leader program, and is on the advisory panel of the NYC Media Lab.
