Profile:
Shannon Mattern’s teaching and research address relationships between media and spatial theory and practice—particularly links between mass media, architecture, and urban planning—and between media and contemporary art. Her work is motivated by a desire to look “beyond the screen” or page to the larger arena in which media operate and to the convergences between media and other fields of creative production and scholarship.
