L.H.M. Ling is developing a post-Western, post-Westphalian understanding of and approach to international relations (IR). Called “worldism,” it proposes that multiple worlds and their hybrid legacies make up world politics. Toward this end, Dr. Ling is designing a new intellectual infrastructure that draws on postcolonial and precolonial concepts and methods for theory building.
