Located in one of the largest and most complex urban ecosystems, The New School Environmental Studies program makes New York City and the tri-state metropolitan region its focus and laboratory. With its large estuary, fisheries, wildlife, and wetland system, New York City is the ideal location for you to study and research how humans impact these systems and how New York City relates to other urban systems worldwide. Unlike most environmental programs, the focus blends three disciplines: science, urban studies, and design. You’ll engage in the community and create solutions to today’s critical environmental problems.
