    Holds

Transcripts will not be issued to persons with holds on their records. A hold is placed when a student has a past-due debt to The New School. Holds must be cleared before a transcript request can be processed.

    Noncredit Records

Academic records are not maintained for noncredit/noncertificate students. If you are taking a course on a noncredit basis and need proof of attendance, you can obtain a Noncredit Record of Attendance. This must be requested before the end of the term in which the course is taken.

    Obtaining Course Descriptions

Course descriptions for courses currently offered can be found in the university course catalog. For courses no longer offered, please check the academic catalog archives to download and print course descriptions. If you cannot locate your course descriptions in either of these places, please complete the Course Description Request Form (PDF) to have the description researched. Please allow five business days for processing (seven business days for pre-1982 courses).
