Simone Douglas works across photography, video, and installation, platforms and has curated numerous exhibitions. Her works have been exhibited internationally at, and are held in, collections including the Victoria & Albert Museum, London; the Art Gallery of NSW, Sydney; and the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne. Douglas’ work has also been exhibited at the Photographers Gallery, London; Month of the Photo, Paris; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney; The National gallery of Victoria, Melbourne and the Australian Centre for Photography and Artereal, Sydney, among many other galleries. Her work has been published most recently in Conveyor, Blind Spot and Photography and Place: Australian landscape photography 1970s until now, Art Gallery of NSW. She was project director and curator for Picture Sydney: Landmarks of a New Generation at the Australian Museum, a Getty Conservation Institute Initiative and was the curator of the international Landmarks of a New Generation at The Australian Museum as part of the Sydney Olympics Arts Festival. She has been a guest scholar at Koln International School of Design, initiated the international art and design collective Conjecture, and served on the Board of Directors at First Draft Gallery, Sydney. Most recently, Douglas is running an international visual research project, “The Exquisite Corpse” across New York City, Koln, Sydney, Amsterdam, Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou. Douglas has most recently given talks on her work at the New York Photo Festival, The Art Gallery of NSW, Artereal and has presented papers at conferences around the world.Courses Taught:

In the past year, Douglas’s new work, Ever, was exhibited at Artereal in Sydney and previously published in Blind Spot magazine.
Her work “Blind,” was exhibited in Photography and Place: Australian Landscape Photography 1970s Until Now, curated by Judy Annear at the Art Gallery of NSW, Sydney. “Blind” was also published in Conveyor Magazine, accompanying an essay by Douglas.
Surrender (collision) will be exhibited in 2012 at The National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne in Lightworks. Curated by Dr Isobel Crombie.
