Martin Greller’s work examines strategic management as a guide to adaptation in the turbulent world of non-profit and for-profit organizations occupy today. This requires grappling with two paradoxes: maintaining steadfastness to purpose while engaging in radical change in execution; and applying control system while fostering creative adaptation. Along with Professor Aida Rodriquez, Greller is currently completing a study of the ways non-profits in New York City have weathered the Great Recession. Courses Taught:
While policy makers are now grappling with survey results showing Baby Boomers’ expectations to work into traditional retirement years, Greller has explored the impediments facing late career workers who try to extend their careers. These include issues of human resource management, labor economics, and career dynamics.
While at the Milano School for International Affairs, Management and Urban Policy, Greller has served as associate dean and as chair of the Human Resource Management program. Previously, he was professor and director of the MBA pogram at the University of Wyoming. He was director of Human Resources Planning and Development for The New York Times Company and a senior consultant with RHR International. Greller is currently on the editorial board of People and Strategy. He has served as chair of the Careers Division of the Academy of Management and as president of the Metropolitan New York Association of Applied Psychology.
