An Alabama Native, Rachel Dozier-Ezell has been a NYC-based freelance Costume Designer & Technician since 2009. She is the Costume Shop Supervisor at The New School for Drama and a Resident Artist with both the Classical Theater of Harlem and Manhattan Theater Works. She began working with The New School in the spring 2010. Rachel has taught Intro to Costume Technology at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and Costume Design, Costume Crafts, and Intro to Costume Technology at The University of South Dakota. She also independently teaches classes in Millinery and Introduction to Sewing and Costumes in NYC.
Mrs. Dozier-Ezell holds a BFA degree in Costume Design and Technology from the University of Montevallo and an MFA from The University of Illinois @ Urbana/Champaign. In addition to costume shop management her skills also include: costume design, hair & make-up design, crafts artistry, draping, distressing, dyeing, and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level.
