  • The School of Drama participates in graduate and college fairs, holds MFA audition workshops, and visits high schools and pre-professional theater training programs around the country, in Puerto Rico, and in Canada.

    In order to audition, you must have a completed New School application on file, including your Acceptd submission. The completion deadline is January 10. Once your application has been received, you will be contacted to schedule an audition. Audition dates will be posted once the schedule has been determined.

    Our campus visit program is an opportunity for prospective BFA students to tour School of Drama facilities and learn more about the BFA in Dramatic Arts. Register to schedule a visit or join a tour.

    Information Sessions

    Explore our undergraduate and graduate programs through a variety of information sessions. These information sessions provide an introduction to academics and admission requirements and are ideal for those interested in applying to The New School.

    Campus Tours

    Student-led tours provide a unique view of our New York City campus in Greenwich Village. All tours include an introduction to the university and a walking tour of our academic facilities. Campus tours are ideal for applicants or those interested in an introduction to study at The New School.

    Individual Admission Counseling

    Prospective students may meet one-on-one with an admission representative, before or after submitting an application. No appointment is necessary, though wait times may be longer during peak seasons. Walk-in hours are offered from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays. You must call or email in advance if you wish to visit the Office of Admission at other times or if you want to meet with a specific counselor.

    Visit a Class in Session

    We're proud of our distinguished faculty and exceptional students. Experience a class for yourself by sitting in on a current class. Class visits for Jazz are included as part of the Jazz Village Campus Tours. If you aren't able to locate a class visit option for online registration, email Denise Rodriguez at rodrigud@newschool.edu.

    Online Admission Webinars

    The Office of Admission offers interactive admission information sessions online several times a year. As in on-campus information sessions, representatives of our academic programs join with admission counselors to answer your questions.

    Every fall and spring, New School admission counselors travel to many parts of the United States and internationally to look for promising students for our degree programs. Selected events will be posted as they are scheduled.
