The Courtesan’s Pirate

Nina Wachsman, Parsons School of Design '78

It is 1614. At long last, Belladonna has been reunited with Isaak, a pirate captain, on the island of Jamaica. Amid a hurricane and an attack by Spanish marauders, the two are separated. When she discovers Isaak has been captured and bound for Spain to be executed, Belladonna returns to Venice. She plans to use her allies to save him, only to learn that her influence has diminished. She must outmaneuver cunning adversaries and navigate shifting alliances and intrigues in a high-stakes bid to rescue Isaak from a tragic fate. In the end, Belladonna must risk everything, even her own safety, in a daring gambit to save the man she loves.
