Your Financial Aid
In an effort to offer greater access to invoice and payment information and reduce the impact on our environment, The New School issues electronic invoices. Students do not receive a paper invoice at their official mailing address and will instead receive a notification at their New School email account (@newschool.edu) when an invoice is ready to be viewed.
For more information, visit the Student Financial Services website, contact Student Financial Services at 212.229.8930, or send an email to email@example.com.
Online classes and many on-campus classes use Canvas course sites. You can log in to Canvas through MyNewSchool. To open the applications drawer, which includes Canvas and other useful programs, click on the Apps icon (three horizontal lines located in the upper right portion of the screen). Clicking on the Canvas link will take you to your Canvas courses. Requests for user support or training and general inquiries about Canvas should be directed to Distributed Education. Call 212.229.8947 x4463 during business hours or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Canvas course sites for on-campus classes appear in Canvas on the day your classes are scheduled to begin. If your class first meets on Tuesday, for example, you will see the Canvas course site for that class on Tuesday morning. Be sure to log in to the Canvas course site. Your professor may have posted the syllabus, readings, or other important information there. Information about using Canvas is available in every Canvas class—just click on the Canvas How Tos link on the left-hand side of the page. Visit the Canvas overview page for more information about Canvas, including hardware and software requirements and information about the Canvas app for Apple and Android mobile devices.
Your online classes will appear in Canvas on the first day of the semester, and the first few days are reserved for a Canvas Orientation class. You will receive an email at your New School (@newschool.edu) email account giving you instructions for logging in to Canvas.
As a New School student, you have access to great deals on computer software and hardware. Visit the Services tab in MyNewSchool, in the Information Technology Services channel, for more information.
