CESJ Faculty Mini-Grants for Spring 2013
Funding is now available through the Civic Engagement and Social Justice Faculty Fund to support Lang faculty who wish to develop or strengthen community-based teaching, learning, and research. Grants of up to $2,500 will be awarded, although we expect most awards to be in the $1,500–$2,000 range. This funding will be awarded to five to seven faculty members who will integrate the Civic Engagement and Social Justice committee’s mission into their pedagogy and practice.
Decisions will be made on a rolling basis through April 30, 2013. All spending must be completed by May 27, 2013.
All Lang faculty (full-time and part-time) are eligible to apply for up to $2,500 in funding to support CESJ courses, faculty-student collaborative community-based research projects, and community collaborations.
Funding can be used to cover speaker and workshop facilitator fees, event-related expenses (e.g., honoraria for community partners, equipment, refreshment, and advertising costs), and community-based research project expenses (e.g., books, project supplies, equipment, transportation, tour fees, postage, film screening rights).
Proposals will not be accepted for
- Compensation of faculty for their time or the cost of course releases
- Purchase or leasing of software or equipment that is already owned or licensed by The New School and available for faculty use
- Faculty travel to conferences
