Internships and Career Planning

At this point in your education, career planning should be an integral part of your college life. Lang’s Internship Program and the New School Office of Career Development are ready to assist you in career planning by providing a range of resources and services for locating the perfect internship or full-time position. By participating in career seminars, information sessions, or individual counseling sessions, you should begin to notice the links between your classroom learning and career prospects.

Lang Internship Program

Obtain valuable practical experience while earning academic credit. The Lang Internship Program provides you with extensive opportunities to facilitate your professional growth and development. It helps you acquire essential skills, investigate potential careers, and clarify your professional goals. Internships are available in a range of fields, including publishing, education, government, arts administration, television and radio, record labels, nonprofit administration, and political organizations. You must complete a series of workshops offered by The New School Office of Career Development in order to participate in an internship, and advisors are available to help you through the process.

The New School Office of Career Development

The New School Office of Career Development emphasizes a holistic approach to career planning, and helps you make sound career decisions to ensure personal and professional growth. Services include individual counseling, special programs and workshops, finding full- and part-time employment & internship opportunities, career resource information, resume and cover letter reviews, and interview skill development. You can also refer to the calendar of career development workshops and events for more information.

To access the database, visit http://www.collegecentral.com/newschool/and click on the link for “Students/Alumni.” If you have not already registered for an account, you must register first to receive access.
