    Suzannah Lessard

    Profile

    Suzannah Lessard is the author of The Architect of Desire: Beauty and Danger in the Stanford White Family, a memoir, and The Absent Hand: Reimagining The American Landscape, a book length reportorial essay published in 2019. She was on the staff of The New Yorker from 1975 to1995 and has been an independent writer of books since then. She is a recipient of the Whiting and Lukas Awards and the recipient of fellowships at George Washington University and the Woodrow Wilson International Center of Scholars. She is currently under congtract with Counterpoint Press on The Body Politic a sequel to The Absent Hand.
