    Alonso Filomeno Mayo

    Profile

    Alonso Filomeno Mayo is an American Film Institute directing graduate from Lima, Peru. His thesis film “Wednesday Afternoon” won the Student Academy Award and a DGA Student Award. He directed the Academy Award shortlisted documentary “Viva la Causa” about Cesar Chavez’ farmworker movement, as well as the interactive web series “Murder Project”. His first feature film, the comedy/drama “The Story of Luke”, about a young man with autism starring Lou Taylor Pucci, Seth Green, Cary Elwes and Kristin Bauer, won over 20 film festival awards and was released by Gravitas Ventures in 2013. Alonso’s second feature, the vasectomy comedy “FIXED”, starring Andy Comeau, Courtney Henggeler, Nelson Franklin, Leonard Roberts and Alan Ruck, premiered at the 2017 Cinequest Film Festival and was released in early 2018.
