DAVON WILLIAMS is the 2025 Next Wave Black Excellence awardee, a two-time Anthem Award winner, Philly Urban Theatre Festival winner for Best Play, a WRTI Artist to Watch, Uptown Collective's Renaissance Residency Playwriting Recipient, a decorated international Dragonboat champion, and an international performer. He is a current NYCLU Artist Ambassador, President of the School of Drama Student Government at Yale, Adjunct Professor at The New School, Professional Development Consultant at Solar Youth, Producing Director for the 2025 Dwight/Edgewood Project, Impact Strategist for Kaiser’s Room, and Teaching Artist for the Lin Manuel Miranda Family Fellowship. He is a March on Broadway co-organizer, published writer (When The Lights Are Bright Again), former Producer for Ars Nova Entertainment, former Eastern Principal Delegate for the Actors' Equity Association, former Communications Director for the Black Theatre Coalition, former Stand-Up Host (Comedy Store, Laugh Factory), former Theater Director for the Philadelphia School District's Regional Talent Centers, UArts alum (RIP), and a TED Talk alum. He is the author of the Black Theatre Matters Bill, the landmark legislation that passed at the Actors' Equity Association's First National Convention. His work has been covered in Deadline, Forbes, CBS, Playbill, The Daily Beast, BroadwayWorld, 60 Minutes, and numerous other platforms and publications.
