    Profile

    Doug Israel teaches a course on Public Policy and Advocacy in the Arts in the new Arts Management and Entrepreneurship program at the College of the Performing Arts. He is also the full-time director of government and community relations at the Borough of Manhattan Community College--CUNY. Prior to this position, Mr. Israel served as the Director of Policy and Advocacy at The Center for Arts Education, where he directed the organization's political strategies and government affairs work to ensure that all of New York City’s 1.1 million public school students received a quality arts education. Mr. Israel has also worked to save endangered sea turtles, advance good government reforms, and train young activists to be environmental leaders.
