On this page you’ll find a checklist of required application materials for our BFA and BBA programs, as well as specific instructions for students applying from international high schools or colleges, students whose native language is not English, transfer students, homeschooled students, and students seeking readmission to The New School.
All listed deadlines, with the exception of Early Action and Early Decision, are priority deadlines. We will continue to accept applications after these deadlines if space is still available in our programs, but we recommend applying as early as possible.
Early Action and Early Decision applications submitted or completed after the deadline may be rolled over for Regular Decision consideration. The Admission Committee will make a decision on your application only after all the required materials have been received.
Note that although we list portfolio deadlines on this page, we urge all students to submit their portfolio as soon as possible after receiving the link to do so. We do not recommend waiting until the portfolio deadlines to submit your portfolio.
Fall
First-Year Early Action and Early Decision: extended to November 15; visual portfolio due as soon as possible.
First-Year Regular Decision, Visiting, and Transfer Students: The admission application deadline is now rolling for the fall 2026 semester. We recommend applying as soon as possible.
Spring
All Freshman and Transfer Applicants: extended to December 1; visual portfolio due as soon as possible
Spring term admission is offered for all Parsons undergraduate programs. Students admitted as first-year, first-semester freshmen must complete a required summer term. This allows students to start in their sophomore year on time, in the fall. If you are unable or would prefer not to attend a required summer session, please do not apply for the spring and choose fall entry. Transfer students who place as first-semester sophomores cannot begin in the spring. First-semester sophomore classes are offered only in the fall. Please email thinkparsons@newschool.edu with any questions.
FAFSA (U.S. Citizens and Eligible Non-citizens)
Fall Applicants: as soon as possible and no later than February 1
Spring Applicants: as soon as possible or no later than November 1
Some applicants are required to submit additional information. If you identify as an applicant from one of these populations please submit the required information below.
