The master’s in Data Visualization at Parsons is a multidisciplinary degree that brings together visual design, computer science, statistical analysis, and ethical considerations of data representation. The program responds to the increased demand for experts who can turn data into insight. You learn to understand and develop the ways in which the presentation of data shapes opinion, policy, and decision making in today’s information economy.
The curriculum integrates theory and studio practice and provides students with a competitive edge as they enter the field of data visualization. The program may be completed in one year (full time) or two years (part time).
Graduates find success in design, data analysis, and computing in a wide variety of fields such as journalism; interaction design, UX/UI design, advertising and branding; business consulting and analytics; management; social enterprise; and public policy.
They work at the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal; Apple, Adobe, and Netflix; and Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and JPMorgan Chase.

Funds are earmarked for graduate travel, research, and work to support your study. Opportunities include paid teaching assistantships, research fellowships and assistantships (including ones offered throughout The New School), ample student employment, and other grants available to U.S. domestic and international students alike.
