Portfolio Requirements

The portfolio is an important part of the application. Parsons School of Design assesses portfolios on the basis of the technical and conceptual abilities displayed in the work.

Fashion Design and the Arts (MFA)

The MFA in Fashion Design and the Arts at Parsons Paris requires that students submit a portfolio in order to be considered for admission. Applicants must submit their portfolio through the Digital Portfolio component of their online application. Materials sent separately (by postal mail, email, etc.) will not be accepted.

Work submitted by those at the graduate level should be tailored to the program to which they are applying.

Please submit a portfolio of 25 to 40 images that best represent your design and/or artwork along with documentation of your creative process. Portfolios should consist of a substantial body of both 2D and 3D fashion design work reflecting a significant amount of visual research and should include detailed documentation of the full design development process. Additional design projects, fashion collections, or art pieces may also be included. These can take the form of drawings, essays, installations, performances, photographs, illustrations, video clips, websites, or representative work in other media that clearly communicates your creative vision. Please provide a brief description of each project, including its context, concept, and, for a group project, your specific role in its development.
