Non-University-Sponsored Housing
There are many other student housing options in Paris, including independent student residence facilities such as the Capirock Cardinet and Capirock Grenelle options, and apartment rentals arranged through agencies and/or listed on different platforms. Although Parsons Paris can provide limited referrals for students seeking their own housing in Paris, we can't officially endorse or guarantee their services. We hope the referrals are helpful in your apartment search.
In your search for housing, documents you will likely be asked for include:
- Your passport or national ID card, which serves as proof of your identity.
- If you're not a French citizen, proof of your residency status in France. This could include a visa, residence permit, or other relevant documents.
- Proof of income and/or a financial guarantor, which can include recent pay stubs, employment contracts, or bank statements showing regular income. If you are asked to provide a financial guarantor, your parents or guardians may provide proof that they have sufficient finances to serve as your guarantor. External services are available for those who are asked for a guarantor who is located and has income sourced from within France.
- Bank account details. Some landlords prefer rent payments to be made through direct debit from a French or EU bank account.
