Born in Vancouver, Canada, Talia is a Fashion Studies Masters student specializing in fashion theory, writing and curation. Prior to Parsons, Talia graduated from McGill university with an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Art History. Her current academic interests lie in the intersection of digital culture and fashion, particularly exploring the impact of technology on fashion mediation and branding. Talia has had diverse experience in the fashion industry; from styling and creative direction to PR and social media. Outside of academia, her hobbies include; both fiction and non-fiction writing, attending live music shows, reading in Parc Buttes-Chaumont and vintage clothing curation. Talia is looking forward to applying both her creative and academic interests and expertise towards her career post graduation.

Archival Fashion: Sartorial Mythologies in the Digital Age

Talia's thesis focuses on the current phenomena of ‘archival fashion’ as visible through a surge of Instagram re-sale accounts. Analyzing the activity of these accounts/ ‘stores,’ she aims to understand how individual archival resellers play into consumer desires by utilizing the symbolic and metaphysical properties imbued in vintage/archival clothing, such as memory, history, heritage, and ‘authenticity'.
