The fashion industry's deep-rooted exclusivity is tied to a critical issue; the lack of diversity in top-level executive and creative positions. This absence leads to frequent offenses against marginalized groups and perpetuates cultural insensitivity and racism. To address this, I propose establishing a DEI ( Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity) focused, pledge based, consulting firm aimed at nurturing diverse talent and creating executive roles for people of color. The Webster dictionary doesn't have a definition for DEI, so the Forbes definition is “Inclusion is what you do, Equity is what you want, Diversity is what you get”. This firm will educate the fashion masses, improve HR protocols, and advocate for policy change to genuinely embed inclusivity from the ground up. Recent global events, like the Black Lives Matter movement, have amplified the demand for change, highlighting systemic discrimination and loopholes in laws aimed at preventing racial bias. Real change requires actively seeking and promoting diverse talent beyond established norms. My goal is to transform the fashion landscape by regulating power dynamics and introducing diverse perspectives that resonate with my cultural background, introducing Fraternité Communications.
