Sophie Madeline Deleuze, originally from Miami, Florida, now calls Paris, France, home. Growing up in a French household, her fascination with fashion began early. In her adolescence, she turned to clothing as a tool for self-expression and transformation, sparking her love for secondhand fashion and all things vintage. She is receiving her degree in Strategic Design and Management with a minor in Fashion Studies. Through her studies and internship opportunities, she has developed a creative approach to strategic thinking and problem solving. She aspires to work in fashion marketing or fashion show/event production before one day starting her own business in the secondhand apparel market.
Nothing New - breaking the stigma around Secondhand
The secondhand apparel industry may be the face of sustainability now, however; it was not always held with such dignity. This thesis explores the evolving landscape of the secondhand apparel industry seeking to explore consumer behavior patterns, market trends, and the transformative impact of digital platforms. Deriving from her hands-on knowledge of the secondhand market, her thesis delves into the stigma around secondhand clothing and overcoming that barrier.
