Born in Alabama, USA Markeilan attended Auburn University for his undergrad where he obtained his BS in Exercise Science. After graduation Markeilan moved to Newark, NJ where he served as a AmeriCorps Fellow Volunteer teaching english and math to underrepresented middle school students. After serving the Newark community' he moved to NYC and shifted to Higher Academia in which he got a position at FIT NYC developing university programs increasing peer mentorship and youth development. Leaving NYC for Parsons Paris to purse a MA in Fashion Studies, Markeilan has focused his studies on bridging his passion for youth development and fashion by increasing awareness and opportunities for underrepresented communities in fashion and would like to continue this mission after graduation.
