Guillermina Caballero Araya was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. With an international background having grown up in many different cities in Spain and England. She has a strong sense of adaptability to any new situation, is very organised and a team player. She is always in the look for a new challenge, and hopes to find a way to make a positive impact to those around her. Her passions include, photography, film, travelling, and health. Parsons Paris has granted her with multidisciplinary practices, and helped her challenge her creative analytical and strategic abilities into her final year. As a fast learner, Guillermina would love to begin developing her career in the fashion industry, and beauty industry, more specifically within styling, PR and marketing sectors.

Beauty Unveiled: Women and the effects of the beauty Industry

This thesis endeavors to dissect the intricate dynamics of the beauty industry’s impact on women’s self-perception and their interactions with the media. This research showcases the quantitative insights and qualitative narratives, unveiling the prevalence of beauty pressures, the impact of media representation, and the psychological ramifications on women. The study not only exposes the detrimental effects of narrow beauty ideals, but also advocates for a paradigm shift towards inclusivity and empowerment.
