Fashion Design (BFA), 2024

In the "Little Whack Dress" collection, the designer provocatively comments on class distinctions by merging skate culture with upper-class elegance. Beyond challenging norms, the fusion sparks a dialogue on existing class divisions in the fashion industry. It serves as a cultural reinterpretation, prompting a reevaluation of style and personal expression. The collection challenges the traditional notion that high-end brands draw inspiration from youth culture, offering a reversal where luxury fashion shapes the aesthetic of skate silhouettes. This narrative defies established categories, fostering contemplation on the intersection of high-end and youth fashion.
