Charner Ramsey

Charner Ramsey (b. 1998, Denver, Colorado, USA) is a Paris-based multimedia artist and designer. Through digital sculpture and animation, Ramsey explores the emotionally fraught relationship between the rapid advancement and widespread integration of new technology and the physical human experience. Ramsey deconstructs and blurs the dichotomy between the organic and the artificial, implementing surrealist and grotesque elements in her narrative world building. Her work disintegrates and transgresses the boundaries between human, animal, and machine by recontextualizing flesh through texture mapping skin and hair particles onto both rigid and softbody forms in a 3D digitally rendered environment. Through surrealist and post-human landscapes, Ramsey narrates the seductive and fetishistic lure of technological progress and speculates a transhuman mutation of the embodied human experience in post-cyberpunk environments.
