Academic advising is a core component of your Parsons experience and can help you extend your education beyond the classroom. The information on these pages will help you make the best use of advising resources during your time at Parsons and The New School.
As you work toward your degree, you will be confronted with both opportunities and challenges. Your advisor will help you address these issues from a developmental perspective. Using their extensive knowledge of campus resources, advisors can teach you how to navigate the university system and act as a liaison between you and University Student Services staff. Additionally, your advisor will help you communicate with faculty and other academic leadership when policy issues arise.
Your advisor’s role is to provide information and support so that you can make informed decisions about your education. Advising at Parsons is defined by advising objectives and expectations for students.
