Parsons’ Integrated Design Program (IDP) empowers young design leaders, entrepreneurial artists, and creative strategists to establish changemaking practices and careers for an evolving world. IDP inspires makers to experiment with cross-disciplinary research and design strategy at a range of scales. It guides creatives to develop values-driven practices. Learning integrates studio classes, rigorous academic courses offered throughout the university, and real-world problem solving with design professionals. Graduates emerge with hands-on integrative skills and peers with whom to collaborate and sustain creative livelihoods.
IDP students work with their assigned advisor to understand pathway requirements and integrate a range of learning experiences aimed at helping students reach their individual creative and professional goals. In collaboration with faculty and advisors, IDP students select from a set of approved electives to design a pathway. NOTE: All IDP students are expected to plan ahead and identify the appropriate prerequisites when sequencing their three-year course of study in the major.
