My thesis project is an installation that invites people to reconnect with a shared childhood experience, one that feels safe, simple, and familiar. Using layers of sheets, pillows, and soft materials, I created a space that evokes the feeling of being a child again: building forts, hiding away, and imagining other worlds. Alongside the installation is a series of short stories I’ve written, inspired by growing up and the complicated feelings that come with leaving childhood behind. These stories explore themes of adulthood, memory, and the loss of innocence. The installation and accompanying series of stories work in tandem, evoking a sense of comfort and nostalgia, while the narratives invite reflection on the ways we evolve over time. Together they remind us that both stages of life—childhood and adulthood—have value.
