Where were you born, and where did you grow up?
I was born in San Donà di Piave, a town in the province of Venice, Italy, and I grew up and studied there until university.

What languages do you speak?
I speak Italian (mother tongue) and English very fluently (C1 level). I’m starting to learn French, but I’m still a beginner.

Could you tell us about your past experiences and what made you join the Parsons Paris community?
During my high school period, I did classical studies, studying mainly literature and ancient Greek and Latin culture and languages. When deciding what university I wanted to apply to, I completely changed my field of interest and started my bachelor’s degree in fashion design at IUAV, the University of Venice. This course completely changed my previous perspective on fashion, which I’ve always been interested in, and widened my knowledge of the cultural view of the subject.

This led me to understand that my natural tendency was going toward the field of fashion studies. I then found the MA program on the Parsons Paris campus.

How does Paris inspire you in your own work?
Paris is definitely the perfect city to study such a subject: You end a lesson analyzing 20th-century philosophers, artists, and sociologists, and you actually find yourself walking through the streets that inspired them in the first place. Here you breathe art and fashion, and anyone can be a part of it.

What is your favorite course so far?
My favorite course so far is definitely Fashion Studies Key Concepts, since it is gently introducing me to the world that I know will be my workplace.

What does your typical weekend look like?
Since I’ve been to Paris for just a few weeks, I usually spend my weekend just going around through its most inspiring places, after having done with my readings or essays for the week!
