    Advising

Originally from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, Ice Baibolov specializes in the visual storytelling of cultural issues.

Her project And So I Stayed is a 360 film that tells the stories of three women who experienced bride kidnapping. Bride kidnapping is a custom that involves a man abducting the woman he intends to marry. In this situation, the woman is brought to the groom’s house and placed behind a white curtain called a köshögö for several days. The project invites the visitor to sit behind a köshögö for a short cultural immersion and to learn about the women’s stories, their current lives and their thoughts on this custom.
