Fidgeting

Art, Media, and Technology (BFA)

Federica Toja
I am an Italian artist who works with jewelry, balancing stress with humor and emotion with physical expression. My jewelry line, Fidgeting, is based on a representation of my own personality: Rather than hiding my mannerisms, I shine a spotlight on them. The collection presents three prototypes for wearable designs intended to help users break bad habits. By exploring the therapeutic potential of interactivity and tactility, I show how accessories can relieve physical or emotional tension. Fidgeting is presented in photography, technical drawings, and objects, which collectively show how these designs transcend pure function to embrace aesthetics.
