Digital artwork with flowers and text reading I saw flowers growing from a chair
I am a visual artist and designer from Germany, now based in Paris, with roots in Kazakhstan. My work spans 3D/CGI, graphic design, and photography; it is often centered on ecological themes and the relationship between humans and the natural world. My animated short film project I saw flowers growing from a chair explores the way design and nature can merge, especially at a time when the natural world is being radically reshaped by human activity. Inspired by the concept of the Anthropocene, the project uses sculptural furniture as a way to reflect on themes such as time, decay, and fossilization. The film brings these ideas to life in depictions of chairs being slowly taken over by blooming flowers. The flower becomes a symbol of quiet resistance, suggesting that even as objects decay, nature always finds its way back in.
