Art, Media, and Technology (BFA)
I am a multimedia artist and designer from Denver, Colorado, working primarily with digital sculpture and animation. My practice explores the way fast-changing technology affects our physical and emotional experiences as humans. In Host Body, my thesis, I deconstruct and blur the dichotomy between the organic and the artificial, incorporating surreal and grotesque elements in non-figurative narratives. The piece is an exploration of the ways in which ill-considered technological advancements and digital culture deform the embodied human experience. Each element of the animation simulates organic processes in distinctly artificial environments, dissolving the boundaries between man and machine.
