Zuzanna Zagorska: a Warsaw-born graphic designer and visual artist based in between Paris and Amsterdam, working at the intersection of art and design. Her past work includes book design, printmaking, digital communication and 3D modeled art, in which she investigates the relationship of humans to the natural world through technology. The work holds strong emphasis on curiosity and freedom, Zuzanna likes to experiment with the unpredictability of media in search of a strong personal style speaking through an intriguing threshold of access and autonomy. Her compositions build and break structure, balancing in between organic and artificial. Typography is her tool to create texture and rhythm. Her work attempts to re-imagine our relation to the natural world, linked like a big organism and her practice is influenced by conversations on social justice and sustainability - always guided by an absolute respect for nature and human life.
Thesis Title: Gilded Lily
Gilded Lily is a poetic multimedia project about the friction between organic and artificial, nature and technology and the search for interconnectedness. The project features a digital 3D modeled “typographic environment” that is visually based on natural organic forms such as salt formations and mycorrhizal networks. Set within digital habitats reminescent of Normandie’s vast beaches, the project’s goal is to find connections within the present biosphere coming together through digital art - connect the organic with artificial, through software made, nonexistent materials, yet clearly influenced by the real world.
